Palmer Course
In the Village of Cochran's Crossing, you will find the 27-hole Palmer facility that is designated to Woodlands Country Club members and their guests.  Designed by Golf Legend Arnold Palmer and Architect Ed Seay, the original eighteen holes (King and General nines) opened in 1990 and the third nine (Deacon) opened for play in 1995.  These 27 beautiful holes are carved out of the tall Texas Pines.  The Palmer Courses feature undulated and mounded terrain, which is surrounded with challenging bunkers and intricate water hazards.  A great example is #4 of the General - this hole is the ultimate risk/reward par five.  The hole requires a long and accurate drive and then a 170+ yard carry over water to a green that is well bunkered as well as surrounded by water.  If you hit your second shot to the lay-up area, you are then faced with a challenging shot over a bunker to a very shallow green.

The Dallas Morning News from 1995 to 1999 has selected the Palmer Courses as one of the outstanding courses in Texas.  The King/General Course hosted the Texas State Open, Shell Houston Open Pro-Ams, as well as qualifiers for the Administaff Champions Tour event.  The Palmer Courses' challenging test of golf has become a favorite venue for all levels of golfers.
